Chail is a tranquil hill station located 40 km away from Shimla town. It is located at a latitude of 2250 from sea level. This place was the summer retreat of Maharaja Bhupender Singh of Patiala. Chail is close to Solan but it falls in Shimla district, it is the best alternative for busy tourist areas of Shimla.
Chail is the paradise for summers. It provides a pleasant environment and calm surroundings. Chail receives moderate snowfall every year so you can also explore the destination when Shimla remains closed due to snow.

Chail Palace
Chail palace is one of the main attractions of Chail. This palace was constructed by Maharaja Ranjeet Singh in 1891 as his summer retreat as his entry was banned in Shimla Lord Kitchener.
It is a regal property located on altitude of 2224 mts and provides a panoramic view of surrounding mountains. This has been spread across 75 acres surrounded by deodar trees. Visitors will experience the royal history of Chail on their visit to Chail palace. Chail palace is now a heritage hotel owned by HPTDC.
Chail Cricket ground
Chail Cricket ground is the world 's highest cricket ground located on an altitude of 2224 built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the year of 1893. Maharaja Ranjeet Singh was a cricket lover of that time so he made this ground to play in his free time and leisure.
This Cricket is owned by Military School Chail. Chail Cricket ground is an exceptional pitch to play cricket. Now you can also play basketball, Polo in this Cricket ground. A unique tree house can also be seen in this ground.
Kali Ka Tibba
Kali ka Tibba is located on hill top and provides the spectacular 360 degree view of Choor Dhar and downward shivalik hills. A lot of locals and tourists visit Chail just for Kali Ka Tibba due to its location and religious significance. Kali ka tibba can be reached by a paved path on foot. Chail wildlife sanctuary is home to many endangered species of wild animals that can live in oak and deodar forest. Goral, Sambar, Kalijin, Barking Deer, Cheer Pheasants, Leopards, Crested Porcupine, Langur, Black Bear and Wild Boar are the main species of this wildlife sanctuary.
