Narkanda -Overview

Narkanda is a hill station located on Hindustan Tibet road, 60 km away from Shimla. Narkanda is quite a hill station away from busy and crowded tourist spots of Shimla. This area is surrounded by himalayan landscape and apple orchards. 

Narakanda becomes full of tourists specially in winters. As Narkanda is located on height, it gets the first snow fall of Shimla. People visit Narkanda to experience the fresh snowfall of Shimla.

Hatu peak

Hatu peak is the most popular among all tourist spots of Narkanda. Hatu peak delivers a spectacular view of Himalayan mountains and valleys at a height of 3400 meters. Hatu peak can be reached by road. This road is surrounded by beautiful pines and deodar trees. Hatu peak is famous for nature walks, photography and enjoying panoramic views.

Hatu Mata Temple

Hatu Mata temple is located on the top of Hatu peak. This is an important religious place of Shimla at Narkanda. Hatu temple is a beautifully carved wooden temple. The road to Hatu peak is steep so visitors should drive carefully.

Tani Jubbar Lake

Thanedar

Jor Bagh

Jor Bagh or Jau bag in local language is a small meadow located 2 km above Hatu peak. It can be reached by taking a trekking route from the parking spot of Hatu peak. You can see a lush green view of Ratnari apple orchards. It takes 30 minutes to reach Jor Bagh from Hatu peak.

Mahamaya Temple, Kacheri

Mahamaya temple located in village Kacheri near to Narkanda. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali and built in the 10th century. The interior of the temple is antique and beautiful. This is well connected by road from Narkanda, Mahamaya temple worth a visit on your Narkanda trip
